Small ranch, major space enhancement
This 1955 designed ranch had a narrow, poorly positioned staircase that cut right through essential living space. It also landed in the basement in a way that made it awkward and unsafe for Cory by forcing him to duck. We constructed an L-shaped staircase encompassed by an oak railing that now makes it comfortable to use the stairs. Then by demolishing the existing staircase, the kitchen, dining room, and living room were opened up into a great room. This is what we now call a little-big house.
